Personal information we collect

We collect the personal information you give us directly — typically your name, company, email address, phone number and the details of your enquiry — when you complete the enquiry form on this site, or contact us by email or phone. If you send us project documentation (drawings, specifications, control schematics or schedules) as part of a quote request, we collect the information it contains.

When you visit the site, our hosting, analytics and bot-protection providers also collect limited technical information — such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you view. This is used to run the site securely and understand how it is used; wherever possible it is aggregated or de-identified and is not used to identify you personally.

How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you (through the enquiry form, email, phone or in person) and automatically through the technical measures above. Occasionally we receive your details from a third party — for example, a head contractor, consultant or referrer who passes on your contact details in connection with a project.

Why we collect and use it

We collect, hold and use personal information to: respond to your enquiry and prepare quotes; design, install, control and maintain electrical, building management, mechanical and refrigeration services and switchboards for your project; manage projects, accounts and our relationship with you; communicate with you about current and related work; keep our site secure and prevent misuse; and meet our legal, tax, warranty and workplace-safety obligations. If you do not provide the information we ask for, we may be unable to respond to your enquiry or deliver the services you request.

Disclosure & service providers

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We disclose it only where necessary: to trusted service providers who help us operate our business and this website — including Microsoft (email and productivity), Cloudflare (domain and bot protection) and Vercel (website hosting and privacy-focused analytics); to project delivery partners (for example testing, supply or subcontract partners) where needed to fulfil your request; and where the disclosure is required or authorised by law. These providers are only permitted to use your information to perform services for us.

Storage, security & overseas handling

Enquiries submitted through this site are delivered into ACE Electrics’ Microsoft 365 tenant, and the mailbox data at rest is kept in the tenant’s Australian region. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure — including encryption in transit (TLS) for the enquiry form and access controls on our internal systems.

Some of our service providers operate globally, so a limited amount of technical or account information may be stored or processed outside Australia (including in the United States). Where we disclose information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs.

Cookies & analytics

This site uses Vercel Analytics, a privacy-focused measurement tool that collects aggregated, de-identified usage data and does not use tracking cookies or follow you across other sites. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell humans from bots on the enquiry form; it helps protect the form from abuse and does not track you across sites. We do not use advertising cookies.

Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it. Enquiry and project records are typically retained for up to seven years to meet tax, commercial, warranty and safety record-keeping obligations, after which they are securely destroyed or de-identified.

Access & correction

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time. If we cannot give you access or make a correction, we will explain why in writing.

Direct marketing

We do not sell your details or use them for third-party marketing. Any messages we send relate to your enquiry, quote or project, and you can ask us to stop non-essential communications at any time.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first using the details below and we will work to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
